Sabou: Under the leadership of Abdoul Aziz Koara, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Sabou commune, and the patronage of Franck Alain Kabore, CEO of Neerwaya Multivision, the Laafi la Bumbu Association of Nabadogo organized the 12th edition of the Laafi Raaga Festival on Saturday, January 10, at the village's primary school. The event drew a large crowd, as observed by AIB on site.According to Burkina Information Agency, PDS Koara praised the Laafi la Bumbu Association's commitment to community health. He emphasized the significance of the certificate of recognition issued by the commune's special delegation, highlighting the results achieved on the ground. He urged teachers and healthcare staff to contact the association to benefit from potential support and guidance.Mitibketa Mariata Ouedraogo, Chief Medical Officer of the Sabou District, expressed her hope for the association's continued success and the organization of the 40th edition of the festival. She announced the health district's contribution through free screenings for sexually transmitted infections for festival-goers.Harouna Kouraogo, the festival's patron, stressed that mutual support and female cohesion are essential for peace and development. He congratulated those honored as ambassadors of peace by the Universal Peace Federation.Fatoumata Kologho, president of the Laafi la Bumbu Association, stated that health is fundamental for planning and implementing development initiatives, which is reflected in the association's name. During the ceremony, the association distributed food supplies to internally displaced persons.The Laafi Raaga Festival focuses on raising awareness about health issues while promoting well-being and good hygiene practices in the Sabou commune. The event was attended by administrative, traditional, and religious authorities, alongside the community members of Nabadogo.
