Kampti: The year 2026 begins under good auspices for the Director of the Departmental Tax Center (DCDI) and the Departmental Treasurer (TD) of Kampti, whose tireless efforts were recognized this Thursday, January 15, by the Special Municipal Delegation. Led by Mr. Massahiba Aime SOULAMA, prefect, president of the Special Delegation of Kampti, assisted by the second vice-president and the secretary general of the town hall, the delegation carried out a working and courtesy visit to the two financial services, housed in the same administrative building.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this visit is part of both the presentation of New Year's greetings and an effort to recognize professional merit. "Our aim is to encourage employees who, through their commitment and high sense of duty, contribute significantly to improving municipal revenues, the foundation of local development," he said.
The Director of the Departmental Tax Centre, Mr. Issouf SAGNON, said he was pleasantly surprised by this mark of attention from the top municipal authorities. "This is a great surprise for me this morning. This recognition is an additional source of motivation to serve the community more rigorously and selflessly," he confided.
He also announced satisfactory results for 2025, with a collection rate of 178%. It should be noted that local taxes include, in particular, the property tax, the business license tax, the micro-enterprise tax, the corporate property tax, the firearms tax, the road tax, and the residence tax. Indeed, on an initial forecast of 39 million CFA francs for the year 2025, the CDI was able to recover nearly 71 million CFA francs, thanks, according to him, to better awareness among taxpayers and strengthened collaboration with local stakeholders.
For his part, the departmental treasurer, Mr. Boutou ZANGO, welcomed a gesture which he considers a call for perseverance. "Beyond the honor bestowed upon me personally, this recognition commits us to redouble our efforts to increase the municipality's own revenue. These results are the fruit of teamwork, and I pay tribute to all my colleagues for their availability and professionalism," he declared.
Furthermore, he attributed this achievement to the advice of the members of the Special Delegation, the recruitment of serious and hardworking collectors, the provision of equipment and above all the field support of the DS members. Concluding the visit, Mr. Massahiba Aime SOULAMA invited the two officials to maintain the course of excellence, while urging them to pursue innovative initiatives in order to sustainably consolidate the internal financial resources of the municipality of Kampti.
