Ioba/oronkua: The municipal school council committee has been installed. The meeting room of the Oronkua town hall hosted, on Friday, January 9, 2026, a general assembly dedicated to the establishment of the executive office of the municipal committee of school councils. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Oronkua commune, Victor Kiswende Dondyre.According to Burkina Information Agency, this assembly was attended by the presidents of the executive offices of the commune's school councils, as well as other key stakeholders in the education system, notably the Head of the Oronkua Basic Education District (CCEB), Nibebalaon Dabire. Before the election of the members of the municipal committee, the CCEB (Local Education Council) read and explained the regulations governing the establishment of the municipal school council committee. It outlined the duties, roles, and responsibilities of the executive committee members, emphasizing the importance of this structure in improving local education governance.Following the election, a five-member executive committee was established. The committee's term is three years, renewable once, and is unpaid. Under the institutional chairmanship of the municipal education director, the executive committee's main missions are to collect, analyze, and prioritize the concerns of the municipality's school councils, develop the municipal committee's work program, and monitor and evaluate its implementation through the preparation of periodic reports.The municipal school council committee aims to establish, in general, a synergy of actions between the educational community, the local government, decentralized technical services, and education partners, with a view to the concerted resolution of school-related concerns at the local level.The new president of the executive committee, Tieroumal Dabire, sought to unite everyone. He stated that he was aware of the responsibilities and challenges ahead. Therefore, he reaffirm ed his willingness to work in a spirit of collaboration and inclusive dialogue. Mr. Dabire called for the involvement of all stakeholders in promoting quality education in the municipality of Oronkua.The PDS took this opportunity to extend its wishes for health and peace to all participants and the population, while urging everyone to actively engage in the pursuit of peace in Burkina Faso through prayer, mutual support, sharing useful information, and all other forms of civic participation. "The establishment of this executive office marks an important step in structuring and revitalizing the school councils of the Oronkua commune, with the aim of strengthening collaboration among local stakeholders and effectively supporting initiatives for the development of basic education," the PDS concluded.
