Traditional Raising of the National Colors in Bassindingo Highlights Patriotism and Unity

Namentenga: The Bassindingo public primary school, in the commune of Niaogho, Boulgou province, served as the setting this Monday for the solemn raising of the national colors, marking once again the attachment of the people to the values of patriotism, civic duty and social cohesion.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony, marked by fervor and discipline, brought together a wide range of local stakeholders. Students and teachers, local residents, Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP), Defence and Security Forces (FDS), heads of decentralized services as well as administrative authorities responded massively to the call.

The ceremony was held under the chairmanship of the prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Niaogho, Karim Sana. A highlight of the ceremony was the performance of the national anthem, Ditany¨, sung in the Bissa language by the students of the school, which aroused strong emotion and warm applause from the audience, illustrating the promotion of national languages in the transmission of republican values.

In his address, Prefect Karim Sana praised the strong mobilization of the people of Bassindingo, a sign, according to him, of their unwavering commitment to working alongside the authorities to build a united and resilient community. He congratulated the students on the quality of their patriotic performance and encouraged the teachers and supervisors for their daily work in the civic and intellectual development of the children.

Mr. Sana also paid a vibrant tribute to the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland and to the Defence and Security Forces for their tireless commitment to securing people and property, particularly in the national context marked by security challenges.

Addressing local concerns, the prefect noted that work to close the local gendarmerie brigade is continuing and invited the population to maintain and strengthen their mobilization around community initiatives aimed at supporting security and development efforts. He also urged the people to cultivate unity, solidarity and civic vigilance, essential values for facing current and future challenges.

The ceremony ended in a friendly atmosphere with thanks addressed to all participants, reaffirming the importance of these citizen meetings in strengthening community spirit and patriotism at the local level.
