Gourma: 145 young people and women have been trained in entrepreneurship and business management in Gayeri, as organized by the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Employment of Komondjari from January 26 to 29, 2026. The training session was conducted for the beneficiaries of the ESPOIR project within the province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative is part of the ESPOIR project, which is a collaborative effort involving the Eastern Regional Directorate of Youth and Employment, Lutheran World Relief, and the Union of Associations DIEMA TIN TUA (UADTT). Over the course of four days, participants were trained in entrepreneurship fundamentals, business management, business plan development, and mechanisms to promote self-employment. The aim was to strengthen their economic capacity and enhance financial independence.

The training sessions were bookended by opening and closing ceremonies presided over by Mr. Valentin Gnanou, the High Commissioner of the province of Komondjari. He welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed the commitment of administrative authorities to support socio-economic integration actions targeting young people and women, especially in light of ongoing security and humanitarian challenges.

The ESPOIR project is designed to bolster the resilience of communities impacted by the crisis and is being implemented across three provinces in the Eastern region: Komondjari, Gnagna, and Gourma.
