Banwa/solenzo: The Solenzo 1 Basic Education District launched its sports season as part of the organization of sport, culture, and leisure at the primary school, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, on the grounds of the Solenzo A school in the presence of teachers, students, and parents of students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this edition, themed "Peace, civic-mindedness and solidarity, I commit myself", brings together 14 schools divided into 4 competition zones. The launch, presided over by the head of the CEB of Solenzo 1, Eustache Bicaba, featured a match between the Behoun school and Solenzo F school. Although Solenzo F, donned in yellow jerseys, dominated the game, it ended in a draw with each team scoring 2 goals.

Wednesday mornings will be dedicated to the competitions within the zones, leading to a final showdown in Solenzo. Eustache Bicaba expressed that the recent journey of the Stallions should inspire teachers and sports officials to enhance training, aiming for Burkina Faso to clinch the AFCON cup in the future.

In his speech, Mr. Bicaba also honored the memory of two teachers from the CEB of Kouka who lost their lives due to terrorist acts. He acknowledged the challenging times faced by educators, students, and parents and emphasized the importance of paying tribute to victims of terrorism.
