3rd Edition of FESCULO to Introduce Cultural Innovations in Tuy Province

Tuy: The 3rd edition of the Lossanni Cultural Festival of Founzan (FESCULO) is scheduled to take place from April 2 to April 4 in Founzan, Tuy province, under the theme 'Cultural and artistic expressions, foundation of peace and living together,' announced the festival's promoter, Lonkou G©rard Yaro. The announcement was made during a press conference marking the official launch of FESCULO 2026 activities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the media event commenced with a message of blessing from the chief of the village of Founzan, who invoked peace, social cohesion, and the success of the festival. The festival coordinator, Tionou Lamy, then reiterated the vision and significance of FESCULO. In his opening remarks, Lonkou G©rard Yaro emphasized that this edition aims to enhance the cultural heritage of Founzan and neighboring areas amid national security challenges and the erosion of traditional values. The festival seeks to serve as a platform for cultural resilience, exchange, and local economic growth.

This year's festival will introduce workshops and performances of endangered traditional dances, such as Yamboyoro, Daans©, N'tuitiyoro (Siiro), Hagu¨yoro, Parinpinyoro, and N'd¨ri. Public conferences on social cohesion and community living are also planned, alongside civic engagement initiatives aligned with the Presidential Initiative for Community Development (PICD) and the Faso Mªbo program for developing the Founzan prefecture.

Organizers anticipate approximately two thousand attendees from Founzan, nearby towns, and across the country. The festival program will include artistic performances, exhibitions of local products, archery competitions, and awareness caravans. Organizers have called for the mobilization of all villages in the municipality to ensure the festival's success.

The event will be held under the patronage of the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Gilbert Pingdwend© Ou©draogo, with the chairmanship of the President of the special municipal delegation of Founzan, Wahabo Kabor©. It will also be co-sponsored by the President of the special municipal delegation of Hound©, Souleymane Dianda, consultant Director General of the BIFAC firm, Michel Lamien, and the Commander of the Special Anti-terrorist and campaign forces H´r´nya (FORSATEC).
