Zondoma/Solidarity: An Association Provides Food to Vulnerable People

Zondoma: The Faso Manegre Association of Kontigue donated 10 fifty-kilogram bags of corn to people living with disabilities. The handover ceremony was presided over by the Secretary General of the Zondoma Province, Anatole P. Kabore, at the Provincial Directorate in charge of humanitarian action.

According to Burkina Information Agency, following their support of the VDP (Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland) and primary school students, the Faso Manegre Association of Kontigue has now turned its attention to people living with disabilities in the province, donating 10 bags of 50kg of corn. The official handover of the food supplies took place in a small ceremony at the offices of the Provincial Directorate of Humanitarian Action and Solidarity of Zondoma.

For Anatole P. Kabore, the Secretary General of Zondoma Province, this gesture, though modest, is of great importance because, he said, "many associations exist in the province, but you are among the few to take visible action." Seizing this opportunity, he congratulated the donors and called on all other organizations to follow the example set by Faso Manegre of Kontigue.

"The President of Faso has called on all Burkinabe to show solidarity with people in difficulty. It is in this context that we deemed it necessary to take this action to relieve our brothers who cannot work because of their disability," said the president of the Association, Adara Ouedraogo.

Thanks to the efforts of Jacques Hermann Soubeiga, the Provincial Director in charge of humanitarian action and solidarity for Zondoma, these food supplies were distributed immediately to the beneficiaries who had been mobilized for this purpose. Faso Manegre is an association active in the sanitation and environmental protection sector. The distributed food supplies came specifically from its own production.
