Oubri: The Oubri Regional Directorate of the National Police announced on Tuesday in Ziniare the launch of the first edition of the 72 hours of sports, artistic and cultural activities of the Oubri Regional Service of Sports, Arts and Culture (SRSAC-OBR), scheduled from February 12 to 14, 2026. The aim of this activity is to strengthen internal cohesion and bring the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) closer to the population. The announcement was made during a press conference led by the Regional Director of the National Police in Oubri, Divisional Police Commissioner Mayrel Natacha Sawadogo/Zoungrana, assisted by her colleagues.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Ms. Sawadogo/Zoungrana emphasized the role of "sport, arts and culture" as essential levers for strengthening cohesion, solidarity, and efficiency within the National Police. She highlighted that these activities aim to project a more human and approachable image of the institution to the public.
Created in January 2024, the Oubri Regional Service for Sports, Arts and Culture seeks to foster a police force closer to the people by promoting the physical and mental health of agents, developing internal talents, and strengthening community life. The Regional Director invited the public, the media, and all the Defense and Security Forces to participate actively.
The program for these 72 hours includes a popular cross-country race, an aerobics session, an inter-FDS relay race, petanque competitions, a women's cycling race, and artistic and cultural performances. Additionally, a friendly cohesion match between the FDS and the citizen watch is planned, culminating in a closing ceremony with distinctions and awards.
The activities will be conducted under the chairmanship of the Minister in charge of Sports, Youth and Employment.
