K en edougou: The Secretary General of the Ministry of National Construction, Captain Ollo Palenfo, conducted a field visit to Orodara on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to assess the progress of the paving work on National Route 8 (RN8), specifically the 55-kilometer Orodara-Koloko section, extending to the Malian border. According to technical data provided as of February 17, 2026, the physical progress of the work is estimated at 26.09%. However, observations made on the ground revealed delays deemed unjustified in the execution of the project.

According to Burkina Information Agency, during his mission, the Secretary General of the Ministry of State Construction, Captain Ollo Palenfo, and his delegation visited several strategic sites. These included kilometer marker 0+250, where a bridge is under construction, the prefabrication base and the power plants, as well as kilometer marker 10+250, where the base course of bituminous gravel is being laid.

Following the visit, Captain Ollo Palenfo and his delegation held a working session at the Provincial Directorate of State Construction with the technical managers of AMP, the company in charge of the work. During the discussions, the Secretary General instructed the company to develop appropriate strategies and redouble its efforts to accelerate the pace of work, in order to strictly adhere to the deadlines set by the Government.

This field visit is part of the ongoing close monitoring of major infrastructure projects undertaken by the authorities, with a view to improving the mobility of people and goods and strengthening economic exchanges.
