Burkina Faso Slam Poet Ax.100’Grav Unveils Second Album “Invictus”

Bobo-dioulasso: Slam artist Ax.100'Grav, also known as Accent grave, officially presented his second album, "Invictus," to the press in Bobo-Dioulasso on Sunday, February 15, 2026. It is a 10-track album that takes the music lover on a journey between tradition and modernity, between deep reflection and rhythm, and confirms the artist's role as a guide-observer within the city.

According to Burkina Information Agency, "Invictus" encompasses several rich and varied themes. The title "Sira ka djan (the road is long)" speaks of the artist's experiences and trials. In the eponymous title "Invictus," the artist displays all his knowledge of the art of slam poetry while paying homage to two icons of African music: the late Tidiane Coulibaly from Burkina Faso and Salif Keta from Mali.

The album also features the title "History," which traces the political journey of Upper Volta to Burkina Faso since 1896. The artist asserts that "History" links the past, present, and future by inviting Burkinabe to set aside personal divisions and unite behind the State to navigate the turbulent times the country is experiencing. The title recounts the history of Burkina Faso from colonization to independence, mentioning various powers that have succeeded one another at the State's helm, and calls for resilience among the people and the Fighting Forces.

Ax.100'Grav emphasized that the album is self-produced with determination, stating that although they lacked extensive production resources, they had the essentials: vision, discipline, and the project. He described the production process as intense, marked by sleepless nights in the studio to ensure the finished product's quality.

The album was born out of resilience and aims for a national presence with a focus on national events and an international reach. The artist will be performing on stage at the Goethe Institute in Ouagadougou on Friday, February 27th. The album is now available, and music lovers can download it on a USB drive.
