Mouhoun Ceremony Highlights Civic Responsibility and Discipline for Students

Mouhoun: Maxime Bakouan, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Douroula municipality, presided over the raising of the national flag at the Douroula Public Primary School 'A,' attended by community leaders and educational stakeholders. Students were urged to embrace civic responsibility and discipline.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the flag-raising ceremony on February 23, 2026, served as a platform to reinforce civic and patriotic values, aligning with the ideals of the popular progressive revolution. Maxime Bakouan highlighted the ceremony as a noble act of unity and remembrance of past sacrifices.

The event was marked by a rendition of the national anthem in the Dioula language. Bakouan emphasized the ceremony as a moment of national unity, fostering social cohesion. He encouraged viewing diversity as a strength and urged students to uphold civic-mindedness, patriotism, and discipline while respecting educational infrastructure and supervisors.

Bakouan paid tribute to teachers for their fight against ignorance, urging them to inspire youth by transmitting the ideals of the People's Progressive Revolution. He acknowledged the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their dedication to national stability, highlighting their role as inspirations for future generations.

The PDS also commended parents for supporting their children's education amid challenges, contributing to the nation's dignity and future. He called for vigilance against glorifying terrorism, stressing civic behavior aligned with national interests.

Bakouan reiterated the flag-raising ceremony as a symbol of collective responsibility, urging a commitment to national reconstruction, peace restoration, and unity for a prosperous Burkina Faso.
