Sourou: The Association for the Promotion of Sourou Culture (APCS) organized a training session in Tougan from February 24 to 26, 2026, aimed at strengthening the capacities of twenty cultural tourism stakeholders in the province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony was led by the High Commissioner of the Sourou province, D©sir© Badolo, represented by the Secretary General of the province, Wendyam Martial Ou©draogo. Over the course of three days, participants engaged in three practical modules focusing on welcoming visitors, branding cultural products, and digital marketing.
The association's president, Assimi Lamouni Drabo, stated that the initiative's goal is to empower local stakeholders to effectively promote the cultural and tourism potential of Sourou. He emphasized the region's untapped tourism potential and the need for stakeholders to enhance their promotional skills.
Adama Zerbo, a hotel manager and participant in the training, expressed his commitment to applying the knowledge gained to enhance the province's cultural and tourism offerings. Zerbo acknowledged the training's benefits in increasing the visibility of Sourou's cultural assets at both national and international levels and encouraged the continuation of such initiatives.
The Secretary General of the province highlighted the importance of investing in culture as a form of resilience and hope for Sourou. He noted that, despite appearing fragile, culture and tourism play crucial roles in fostering resilience, social cohesion, and hope in the region.
