The “VDP School” Project Launches Its Civic Activities in Nagbangre A

Koubri: The VDP school project launched a series of educational and civic activities on Wednesday at the Nagbangre A public primary school in the commune of Koubri, with a view to promoting civic-mindedness, patriotism and excellence in the school environment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, structured around ten sub-projects, the VDP School Project aims to develop responsible, disciplined citizens committed to national values. Through its "Green School" component, the initiative plans to plant 120 trees per province, or approximately 6,000 trees per year, to contribute to improving the school environment and promoting environmental citizenship.

The launch ceremony took place in the presence of several administrative authorities, including the Director General of Water and Forests, Barnabe Kabore, the Regional Director of Water and Forests of Kadiogo, Pascaline Nikiema, the Regional Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education, Adjara Sawadogo, as well as the Head of Mission at the Presidency of Faso, Patrick Gampene.

The speakers welcomed an initiative they deemed consistent with the national authorities' vision for moral renewal, civic responsibility, and patriotism. According to the Director General of Water and Forests, the involvement of schoolchildren is a crucial lever for lasting change in civic behavior.

The ceremony was marked by a tree-planting session of local species within the school grounds, a symbol of the commitment of students and authorities to work for the protection of the environment and the consolidation of civic values.

Through this action, the promoters intend to permanently place civic education and environmental responsibility at the heart of the Burkinabe education system.
