Ouagadougou: Seven young girls received their certificates of completion of apprenticeship this Wednesday at the end of their hairdressing training within the Sougr Nooma Association of hairdressers and hairstylists of Soudougui. Held on the grounds of the local primary school, the ceremony brought together administrative and traditional authorities, members of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), as well as many relatives of the recipients who came to share this proud moment.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the association's president, Delphine Sorgo, thanked all those involved for their support. She emphasized that vocational training remains a crucial pillar of development, as it empowers young people and effectively contributes to the fight against unemployment. She also highlighted the challenges facing the association, including dropouts due to marriages during training and the lack of start-up kits to help new graduates launch their own businesses. To address these issues, she advocated for the establishment of a better-equipped training center to improve the mentoring environment.
The Head of the Basic Education District (CEB), Kampadilemba Innocent Ouoba, welcomed the initiative, encouraging the beneficiaries to persevere in their work and to foster harmony within their group. He stated that women's education and training represent a sound investment for society. Representing the PDS, the first vice-president, Ragouyatou Poubere, congratulated the new graduates and urged them to consider this certificate as the starting point of a responsible and ambitious professional commitment.
The ceremony concluded with the official presentation of certificates, followed by a symbolic gesture from the beneficiaries towards their trainer, in a warm and appreciative atmosphere.
