Nahouri: The Muslim community of Nahouri implores Allah for a return of peace to Burkina Faso

The Muslim community of Nahouri organized a large prayer for the return of peace to Burkina Faso on March 1, 2026, at the main mosque in the Po market. Provincial and traditional authorities were present. Readings from the Holy Quran and blessings formed the main focus of the day.

According to Burkina Information Agency, faced with the security challenges the country is going through, the Muslim community of Nahouri mobilized at the great mosque of the market of Po to implore Allah's grace for stability and social cohesion.

This day of prayer, marked by the complete reading of the Holy Quran, had a single objective: to seek divine intervention for the lasting return of peace to Burkina Faso.

Provincial authorities, led by the High Commissioner of the Nahouri province, Sie Aristide Mohamed Kam, and traditional leaders, headed by His Majesty the Po-Pe, were present at this moment of reflection and supplication.

This administrative and customary presence underlines the importance of the union between state institutions and religious communities in the search for social and security solutions.

The president of the Muslim community of Nahouri, El hadj Abdoulaye Gnane, called on the sons and daughters of Nahouri to be tolerant and to live together.

He urged every citizen to be an agent of peace in their immediate surroundings, recalling that national stability begins with local fraternity.

The High Commissioner of Nahouri, while welcoming the initiative, indicated that faith and prayer constitute an essential moral bulwark to support the efforts of the fighting forces on the ground.

Also, specific prayers were said for the authorities of the country, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) as well as for the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

Muslim community leaders have asked Muslim worshippers to offer a prayer for the civilian and military victims of the security crisis.
