School Sports and Cultural Competitions Begin in Fara

Kongoussi: School sports and cultural activities are underway in the commune of Fara. The competition in the various categories began on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, with local administrative authorities and basic education stakeholders launching the event in the courtyard of the education inspectorate.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Fara Basic Education District has chosen "Solidarity and Resilience for Quality Education" as the theme for this school-based sports and cultural season. The various schools within the district are invited to showcase their talents in ballet, recitals, lip-syncing, slam poetry, and theater for the cultural component.

For sports, the focus is mainly on inter-school football for students and inter-zone educational support for teachers. All 44 schools in the district are on the competition lists.

Inspector Nabonswende Zoma, head of sports and cultural activities for the district, delivered the opening address for this edition on behalf of the CCEB. He congratulated the organizing committee on the success of the previous edition and urged all those involved to work even harder to ensure the success of the 2026 edition.

Inspector Zoma highlighted that cultural and sporting activities aim to promote social cohesion, personal development, and academic excellence. They stimulate students' potential and contribute to the development of their skills.

Before officially launching the activities, the CCEB representative urged the referees and jury members to be professional and impartial so that sports and cultural activities could thrive in primary schools.
