Bogand e: The Association for the Development of Education and Culture (ADEC) organized the first edition of the Community Days on February 28 and March 1, 2026 in Bogand e, under the theme: 'Culture, a factor of social cohesion'.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was under the patronage of the High Commissioner of the province of Gnagna, Jean Baptiste Beogo, and chaired by the Prefect, President of the special communal delegation of Bogand e, Taugolo Par e. It brought together administrative, customary, religious, and military authorities, as well as local populations, to promote unity.
For two days, the courtyard of the Bantia public primary school, in sector 3 of Bogand e, hosted cultural performances by various communities residing in the commune. The Gulmantch e, including the Tindano, Yarga, Mano, and Haro families, the Gnagna nephews' association, along with the village of Sorgha, the Yaarc es, the Peuls, the Bissas, and the Zaoss e, all showcased their traditional attire, delivering messages of peace and unity.
Exhibitions featuring local food, handicrafts, and art objects highlighted the cultural expertise of the communities. A dozen weavers, along with women skilled in cotton spinning, demonstrated their ancestral techniques to the public, capturing the interest of young attendees.
The event also had honorary sponsorships from His Majesty Yempaabou, chief of the canton of Bogand e, the Provincial Director of Communication, Culture, and Arts of Gnagna, Mr. Christian Zoungrana, and Mr. Tindanyombo C edric Yarga, auditor, along with Djingri Tiampandiga Lankoand e.
Taugolo Par e, the PDS of Bogand e, highlighted cultural diversity as an asset and essential foundation for a harmonious society, urging the preservation of local values and the promotion of intercultural dialogue.
Jean Baptiste Beogo, the High Commissioner of Gnagna, praised ADEC's initiative, emphasizing culture as a powerful medium for dialogue and peace, crucial for strengthening social cohesion. He encouraged stakeholders to expand such forums to reinforce unity and stability.
The president of ADEC, Xavier Djingribouga Noali, stated the aim of the event was to establish a lasting framework for cultural expression and social dialogue to strengthen community ties and contribute to the municipality's development. He expressed satisfaction with the strong participation from Gulmantch e families and other communities in Bogand e.
The organizers, encouraged by the initiative's success, plan to establish Community Days as a recurring event, aiming to make it an annual celebration dedicated to promoting cultural diversity and social cohesion in the province of Gnagna.
