Bogand©: The Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Gnagna orchestrated a formal raising of the colors ceremony at Bantia Public Primary School in the commune of Bogand©. This event was marked by a ceremonial raising of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem in the Gulmantche language, reflecting civic duty and patriotism.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education for Gnagna, Sylvain Thiombiano, utilized the occasion to disclose the findings of the Ministerial Sector Administrative Council (CASEM) to stakeholders in the education sector. He reported that the activity report from the Ministry of Basic Education, Literacy, and the Promotion of National Languages (MEBAPLN), as of December 31, 2025, shows an average completion rate of 87.16% for planned activities.
These accomplishments primarily focus on enhancing access to quality education, promoting non-formal education and national languages, and improving teaching conditions and school life. Looking ahead to 2026, several initiatives are on the agenda. These include the phased transformation of Bisongo schools into Early Childhood Education and Development Centers (CEEPs), the continued growth of preschool education, and an increase in bilingual schools, with an anticipated total of 1,711 nationwide.
The Ministry also intends to digitize new textbooks and provide support to 20,000 vulnerable students and students with disabilities. In his speech, Mr. Thiombiano encouraged education stakeholders to abandon outdated practices and steer clear of illegal activities within the services, aiming to bolster good governance in the education system.
