S©no High Commissioner Urges Civic Responsibility on Taxes and Values

S©no: The High Commissioner of S©no Province, Yaya Kon©, has made an impassioned appeal to all constituted bodies, including the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), as well as the general population, to demonstrate civic responsibility concerning taxes and to uphold civic values. This call to action was issued during the traditional flag-raising ceremony at the provincial headquarters of Social Action.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner emphasized the significance of two major events in March: the celebration of International Women's Day on March 8 and the edition of the Days of Exemplary Tax Practice. Ali Kabor©, representing the Provincial Director of Taxes (DPI), elaborated on the objectives of these initiatives, which aim to foster tax citizenship and encourage citizens, especially those working in administrative and private sectors, to meet their tax obligations.

Kabor© highlighted that the initiative targets several taxes, including residence, motor vehicle, weapons, property income, and land taxes on both built and unbuilt properties. He expressed confidence that this initiative would bolster state revenues and reinforce national sovereignty, aligning with the slogan: "For a resilient and sovereign Burkina Faso, I declare and pay my taxes."

Organizations have been urged to compile staff lists and promote awareness among employees to engage in this civic duty. The High Commissioner also encouraged the citizens of S©no to participate actively in the 4th edition of the Days of Exemplary Tax Conduct and the International Women's Day celebrations.

Additionally, he paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their sacrifices in safeguarding the province.
