Bougouriba/saptan: Students at the Saptan General Education College (CEG) began their second term exams on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in a studious atmosphere, marked by the presence of municipal authorities who came to encourage the candidates.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the start of the exams was preceded by the traditional raising of the national flag within the school grounds. Following this civic duty, the headmaster of the Saptan CEG, Casimir Oudraogo, addressed the students, wishing them good luck and urging them to be diligent and calm.
In his message, the head of the institution emphasized the importance of these assessments in evaluating students' academic work. He noted that the exams provide an opportunity for students who performed well in the first term to consolidate their performance, while those who struggled should redouble their efforts to address their weaknesses.
Director Oudraogo also warned against any attempt at cheating during the exams. "We don't need four eyes or long necks. Just rely on what you've learned," he insisted, before reminding everyone that those who cheat face severe penalties, including receiving a zero in all subjects of the exam.
At around 10 am, during the second test of the day, the establishment received a visit from the prefect and president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Dolo, Iliassa Oudraogo, accompanied by the secretary general of the town hall, Lehint Pal.
Welcomed by the director and the administrative and teaching staff, the municipal authorities toured some classrooms, particularly those of fourth and third grade, in order to encourage the students in the middle of their exams. Addressing the candidates, PDS Iliassa Oudraogo particularly emphasized the importance of hard work and perseverance to students in grades 8 and 9.
He told the grade 8 students that they are now one step away from the Junior High School Certificate (BEPC) exam and that they must begin preparing now to aim for a 100% pass rate in their session. Addressing the Year 9 students, he urged them to redouble their efforts to bring honor to their school. 'We are counting on you so that at the end of this year's BEPC session, your teachers can proudly announce that the students of the Saptan CEG have achieved a 100% success rate,' he declared.
The head of the municipality also reassured the students of the attention that the municipality pays to the needs of their school, promising to work towards resolving some grievances and to forward the others to the competent authorities. He also praised the work done by the director and all the educational staff, while being pleased to have been informed of the holding of the exams, which allowed the municipal authorities to provide support to those involved in education.
