Women Mobilize to Make Paving Stones in Ouahigouya

Ouahigouya: On the occasion of the commemoration of the 169th International Women's Day, the regional coordination of women of the Yaadga region mobilized its members on Sunday, March 8, to make paving stones for the benefit of the Faso-mªbo Agency in the city of Naaba Kango, AIB observed on site.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Noufou Ou©draogo Municipal Stadium in Ouahigouya served as the venue for women to commemorate this day dedicated to them in a unique way. As desired by the highest authorities of Burkina Faso, the women, under the leadership of their regional coordinator Hadja Djen©ba Sodr©/Sangarba, celebrated March 8th through practical work, despite the hunger and thirst of this period of fasting.

During the day, the women made paving stones that will be used to beautify the city. "Through this mobilization, the women demonstrate their willingness to contribute concretely to the building and promotion of citizen initiatives in Burkina Faso and, at the same time, respond to the spirit that supports this day," said the regional coordinator.

Several authorities joined the women's action by participating in the making of the paving stones, demonstrating their support for the women of the region.
