Ouahigouya: The second edition of Women's Space, organized by the Club des jeunes Corps et Confiance, took place on Sunday at the Tenkodogo Youth Listening Center, located behind the governorate.

It gathered administrative and health authorities, partners, and over 300 young individuals to address issues related to sexual and reproductive health and the leadership of young girls.

In his introductory remarks, the Head Nurse of the Urban 1 CSPS described the Tenkodogo Youth Centre as a venue dedicated to listening, informing, and providing care for adolescents and young people. The center offers various services, including information and awareness on sexual and reproductive health, youth-focused consultations, treatment for sexually transmitted infections, and educational and socio-cultural activities.

He noted that in 2025, the center recorded 646 consultations, with nearly 69% involving young people under 24, highlighting the increasing interest among teenagers in this support service.

The president of the Corps et Confiance Youth Club stated that the second edition of Women's Space aims to enhance young people's knowledge of sexual and reproductive health, promote youth leadership, and encourage artistic and cultural expression. He expressed gratitude to the administrative and health authorities, teachers, trainers, jury members, and technical and financial partners for their support in organizing the event.

Dr. Sohint© Som©, the Chief Medical Officer, commended the progress made in revitalizing the Youth Centre over the past two years, citing significant achievements such as equipping the center with board games and sports equipment, acquiring audiovisual equipment, installing free wifi, connecting to the National Office of Water and Sanitation (ONEA) network, opening a depot of essential generic medicines, and extending care services. He also noted the installation of streetlights in the center's courtyard, supported by the event's sponsor, Gladys Bado, the commercial director of the SONABEL agency in Tenkodogo.

The High Commissioner of Boulgou Province, Constantin Dabir©, congratulated the health district team and club members for their achievements during this edition. He praised the training provided to 60 young people on sexual and reproductive health, another 60 on public speaking and project development, and the presentation of 11 youth-led projects, three of which will be implemented. He acknowledged the strong student engagement and awareness activities that reached over 300 people.

Event patron Gladys Bado encouraged young people, particularly girls, to continue their studies, develop their talents, and adopt responsible behaviors regarding sexual and reproductive health. She emphasized the importance of girls' social and educational empowerment, noting that health is the foundation of any life plan and sustainable development.

Mr. Lall© Siaka dit YAO urged young people to regularly visit the Tenkodogo Youth Centre and share the awareness messages they received to help build a responsible, healthy, and engaged youth for the development of the Boulgou province.
