Kampti: The management committee of the Graine de Paix association of Kampti organized a training session for water user associations (AUE) from thirteen villages in the commune. The session aimed to strengthen their capabilities in managing public water services.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event commenced with Mr. Sawadogo Pascal, president of the management committee of the Graine de Paix association, acknowledging the participants for their dedication and expressing gratitude towards the trainers. He highlighted the significance of community-driven management of water infrastructure to maintain sustainable access to potable water across the villages.

The Secretary General of the Kampti Town Hall, Mr. Bienvenu Compaore, officially inaugurated the training, praising the initiative to bolster the capacities of water user associations. He urged the attendees to engage thoroughly with the modules to enhance water point management within their communities.

The training was delivered by Mr. Bienvenu Compaore and Mr. Palandjete Pale, the water focal point for the municipality of Kampti. It covered critical topics such as the statutes and internal regulations of water user associations, strategies for managing public water services, and mechanisms for setting water prices. These sessions equipped association leaders with insights into governance, financial management, and the maintenance of hydraulic infrastructure.

On behalf of the trainers, Mr. Bienvenu Compaore encouraged participants to internalize and implement the acquired knowledge to ensure the sustainability of hydraulic structures in their localities.

Representing the beneficiaries, Mr. Serges Kambou conveyed the gratitude of the water user associations to the Graine de Paix association and the trainers for this capacity-building effort. He assured them of the participants' resolve to apply the lessons for improved water management in their villages.

This training session is a part of ongoing efforts to promote participatory and sustainable management of drinking water in the municipality of Kampti.
