Mouhoun: Muslim worshippers in the commune of Tcheriba celebrated Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, on Friday, March 20, 2026, under the leadership of the Grand Imam, El Hadj Lossani Kote. This celebration, focused on social cohesion, was attended by administrative, municipal, and traditional authorities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, gathered on the large grounds of the commune, the faithful, in fervor and contemplation, gave thanks to God for the blessings of the month of penance, while offering prayers for peace and stability in Burkina Faso.
The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Tcheriba, Ouesseni Logora, accompanied by his colleagues, took part in the collective prayer in order to show his support for the Muslim community. He extended his best wishes for the holiday to the faithful and commended their constant commitment to peace and social cohesion.
The PDS also congratulated the community for its organizational capabilities, stressing that this celebration constitutes, each year, a moment of strong mobilization and communion for all the populations of the commune, in an atmosphere marked by conviviality and solidarity.
In return, the Grand Imam Lossani Kote pronounced blessings for the Burkinab¨ nation, inviting the faithful to intensify prayers in families for the return of peace. He also praised the resilience of the community's driving forces and the commitment of public and private sector workers alongside national authorities to the reconquest of the territory and the affirmation of the country's sovereignty.
The celebration was marked by the remarkable presence of a delegation from the fighting forces, who came to express their gratitude to the Muslim faithful for their constant support during these trying times. The members of the delegation urged the people to continue their prayers and initiatives in favor of peace and the reconquest of the national territory.
Visibly moved by this gesture of attention, the Imam offered blessings to the fighting forces engaged in the various theaters of operation, while entrusting the countries of the Confederation of Sahel States to divine grace. While rejoicing in the festive nature of this day, the faithful were invited to observe moderation and prudence in the celebrations, in accordance with the call of the PDS, which urged them to keep a pious thought for the forces engaged at the front as well as for their families.
