Nayala: Christian faithful from the Federations of Evangelical Churches and Missions of Nayala organized a large prayer session on Sunday in Toma in favor of peace in Burkina Faso and the victory of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was held in the afternoon at the Philadelphia Church of the Assemblies of God, in sector no. 3 of Toma, in the presence of provincial, administrative, and security authorities. The event was placed under the theme: "The God of heaven will give us success", taken from Nehemiah 2, verse 20. The ceremony featured prayers, messages of exhortation, songs of praise, and intercessions.

The various speakers emphasized faith, unity, and patriotic commitment to support the FDS and VDP engaged in reclaiming the national territory. Prayers were offered for authorities, internally displaced persons, bereaved families, and for peace and prosperity in Burkina Faso.

A representative of the fighting forces spoke at the event, welcoming the initiative and urging the people to maintain their faith in God and support the forces engaged on the ground. The High Commissioner of the province of Nayala, Honore Frederic Pare, expressed gratitude to the organizers and the faithful for their spiritual mobilization. He highlighted the significance of moral and spiritual support in the current security context and paid tribute to the fighting forces for their sacrifices.

A fundraising campaign during the event raised 75,000 FCFA for the security forces.
