Ouahigouya: The High Commissioner of the Yatenga Province, Pierre Claver Banc©, presided over the solemn raising of the colors on the occasion of the third edition of the national day of patriotic commitment and citizen participation, urging the unreserved consumption of local dishes, AIB observed.

According to Burkina Information Agency, it was in the presence of the constituted bodies of the province of Yatenga, who were heavily mobilized, that the High Commissioner Pierre Claver Banc© led the solemn ceremony of raising the colours in the premises of the High Commission.

Following the raising of the flag, the High Commissioner read a message from the President of Burkina Faso, Head of State Captain Ibrahim Traor©. In essence, the President of Burkina Faso called on all Burkinabe to urgently reconnect with their local roots, particularly through the consumption of Burkinabe products.

"The State is taking vigorous measures to protect products made in Burkina Faso, and a patriotic surge is needed from both the population and traders so that the shelves of our shops and food stores become spaces where local production reigns supreme," he said.

According to the presidential message, it is at this price that we will be able to eradicate imperialism and its ramifications from our lands. "When you prefer soumbala to imported chemical cubes, you are not just cooking, you are burning the patents of imperialism," the High Commissioner stated, paraphrasing the President of Burkina Faso.

Seizing the opportunity, Pierre Claver Banc© urged the people of Yatenga to prioritize local cuisine and traditional Burkinabe clothing in their daily lives. According to the provincial authority, the recommendations made by the President of Burkina Faso during the third edition of the event, under the theme of "buying local," must be disseminated and implemented to ensure true sovereignty.
