Pabre: The Ministry of Security organized a day of local dishes on Tuesday at the Police Academy, thus obeying the call of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, to strengthen food sovereignty by promoting local dishes and drinks.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Ministry of Security, as part of the days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation, wanted to commit itself and call on all personnel to engage in the consumption of local food," declared Divisional Police Commissioner Emmanuel Zongo, Chief of Staff (Dircab) of the Ministry of Security. Mr. Zongo was speaking on Tuesday in Pabre, on the occasion of the local food day organized by the Ministry of Security.
The national days of patriotic engagement and citizen participation for the year 2026 are placed under the theme: "food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together let us cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption". An edition that is part of a dynamic of gastronomic promotion.
"Beyond this act which is very nourishing, there are women and men who work in production, in processing and this is a way to encourage them, to support them," explains the Chief of Staff. Representatives from the structures of the Department of Security were able to discover and taste purely Burkinabe dishes and drinks. This is a way for them to promote our food sovereignty and strengthen our civic engagement.
"The Police Academy is a privileged setting to promote the consumption of local food because security is also about health, the environment and food," noted Divisional Police Commissioner Lassina Traore, Director General of the Police Academy. "A man who depends on others for food is not a fully free and responsible man, and therefore vulnerable to crime," explained the Director General.
On March 26, the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, launching the 3rd edition of the national days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation, called on the population and traders to a patriotic awakening.
