Burkina Faso: President Traore Praises the Crucial Role of Teachers in Spreading Revolutionary Ideology

Burkina faso: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, on Thursday praised the crucial role of teachers in spreading the ideology of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) in Burkina Faso, highlighting their early commitment to the patriotic and civic education of students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, President Traore expressed satisfaction with the spontaneous mobilization of the educational community. The Head of State held an interview on Thursday with national and international media outlets on the occasion of the first anniversary of the proclamation of the People's Progressive Revolution (RPP).

He noted that teachers have distinguished themselves as essential vectors of the revolutionary spirit, initiating concrete actions aimed at instilling in learners the values of patriotism, discipline, and commitment to the nation. This initiative by teachers predated any official guidelines.

Captain Traore also emphasized the contribution of teachers in transforming schools into productive spaces through the establishment of school gardens and agricultural activities. He stated that this approach helps reconnect students with the fundamental values of Burkinab¨ society and promotes self-sufficiency.

Since the proclamation of the Revolution on April 1, 2025, numerous initiatives have emerged, particularly in educational circles, as indicated by the President of Burkina Faso. He stressed that teachers play a strategic role in shaping the revolutionary elite, especially among young people, who are deemed the primary agents of change.

President Traore further highlighted the need to adapt the Popular Progressive Revolution to current realities within a changing global context. He announced that a manifesto will soon be published to clarify the ideological foundations of this movement. Social actors, particularly teachers, were invited to continue their awareness and training efforts to permanently embed the revolutionary spirit within Burkinabe society.
