Tenkodogo: The first ordinary session of the special delegation of the commune of Tenkodogo was held from Tuesday, March 31 to Thursday, April 2, 2026, under the chairmanship of Sami Berenger Pooda, president of the special delegation. At the heart of the discussions were the validation of the mandate of the member representing the Tenkodogo Research Brigade, the adoption of the related resolution, the presentation of the president's special report 2025, as well as the review and adoption of amending budget no. 1. This budget aims to adapt the priorities of the municipality to the new realities and expectations of the population.
According to Burkina Information Agency, presiding over the proceedings, Sami Berenger Pooda indicated that this session allowed for adjustments to the initial budget adopted at the beginning of the year. This revision takes into account new directions, with the inclusion of additional revenue sources and expenditure planning better suited to the needs expressed by the population. This approach reflects the desire of the municipal authorities to strengthen the effectiveness of local management, in a context marked by the reduction of certain financial support from the State.
Faced with challenges, particularly that of mobilizing its own resources, the municipality intends to consolidate its financial capacities in order to meet expectations in terms of infrastructure and socio-economic equipment. In this context, several actions have been included in the budget. These include the construction of about fifty rice shops, the renovation and restructuring of the market in sector no. 6 for an amount of approximately 100 million CFA francs, as well as the construction of a municipal hostel. These investments aim to strengthen the municipality's sources of income and to support the establishment of basic economic infrastructure.
Concluding the proceedings, the president of the special delegation appealed to the residents of the 92 villages in the municipality. He urged them to respect the rules of community life, particularly those related to traffic, as well as to be civic-minded in paying taxes. He emphasized the need for each citizen to fulfill their tax obligations, emphasizing that the payment of taxes and duties is an essential lever for financing local development and strengthening national sovereignty.
In this context, a day of exemplary tax compliance was organised, during which members of the special delegation and municipal agents paid their taxes. Through this session, the special delegation of Tenkodogo reaffirms its commitment to promoting management based on the mobilization of internal resources and the implementation of priority actions for the benefit of the population.
