Kokologho Easter Vigil: Bishop Joachim Ouedraogo Calls for Peace and Social Cohesion

Kokologho: The Bishop of the Diocese of Koudougou, Mgr Joachim Ouedraogo, led the Easter vigil at the parish of Kokologo, where he called for social cohesion and peace, AIB observed.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Catholic faithful of the Kokologho parish celebrated Easter with fervor in the presence of their pastor, Bishop Joachim Ouedraogo. This celebration came after forty days of Lent, penance, and prayer, marked by teachings on Christian life.

In his homily, the parish priest, Father Jean-Marie Korbeogo, explained the etymological meaning of Easter, which signifies passage. He urged the faithful to undergo true inner transformation by abandoning vices and embracing a life in accordance with Gospel values.

The ceremony's highlight was the administration of the sacraments of baptism and confirmation, expanding the local Christian family.

Speaking at the event, Bishop Joachim Ouedraogo emphasized the responsibility of Christians in the country's current context. He invited the assembly to cultivate a healthy life, rooted in the ongoing pursuit of peace and the strengthening of social cohesion.

The celebration concluded with solemn blessings pronounced by the bishop for the faithful of Kokologho and for the return of stability throughout the national territory.
