Sapone: Nuru Burkina Faso presented certificates on April 2, 2026, to several members of agricultural cooperatives who have been equipped with tools and training to enhance agricultural productivity and governance. The ceremony took place at the local office of Nuru Burkina Faso in Sapone.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative aims to fortify the capacities of farmers' organizations, thereby enhancing economic autonomy and ensuring sustainable agricultural practices. Nuru Burkina Faso employs a participatory approach, collaborating closely with local actors to ensure the sustainability of its results. The organization provides technical training, access to agrometeorological information, and support for post-harvest processing.
The awards ceremony recognized achievements in three categories: cooperatives, individual producers, and service providers. Certificates were awarded to six cooperatives, including Teegawende, Teeltaaba, Wendpanga, Namalguezangan, and two others. In the category of individual producers, recipients included Mamounata Tiendrebeogo, Odile Nikiema/Ouedraogo, and Talato Wangawa. The final category acknowledged the contributions of the ZATA, the Sapone town hall, and the president of the CVD of Pissi village.
Mr. Tuwendyam Nikiema, Director of Impact and Agribusiness Development, expressed appreciation for the efforts and achievements of the recipients, marking a step towards the economic empowerment of farmers. Nuru Burkina Faso, established in 2022, continues its mission to bolster the resilience of vulnerable agricultural communities in Burkina Faso.
