Namissiguima: The Prefect President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Namissiguima, Mahamadou Issoufi Maga, participated in a flag-raising ceremony at the Kononga public primary school, a village in the commune of Namissiguima, which was followed by civic activities where he invited the population to a collective awareness and civic engagement, AIB observed.
According to Burkina Information Agency, as part of the activities of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), the PDS, surrounded by department heads, students, parents of students, and the inhabitants of the village of Kononga, mobilized strongly for the interest they have in these days. From 7:30 a.m., the students of the Kononga A public primary school, dressed in Koko donda, proceeded to raise the national colors while singing the victory anthem.
The head of the Namissiguima basic education district, Christophe Kienou, spoke with the students in simple terms about the meaning of the JEPPC (Journees d'Education et de Promotion du Patrimoine - Days of Education and Promotion of Citizenship) before encouraging them to adopt civic and patriotic behaviors. During the ceremony, the President of Burkina Faso's speech on the JEPPC was read and repeated in the Moore language for better understanding by the local population.
The local council invited residents within its jurisdiction to participate in a cleanup of the Namissiguima market. During the event, participants were invited to sample local food and drinks, including fresh milk, gonre, keguendo, galettes, gapal, t´ borgo, zoom-koom, pigri, b¨ng-falle, peas, and more.
As a reminder, the raising of the colours and the civic and patriotic activities in the spirit of the People's Progressive Revolution are held in a rotating manner in the different villages to promote its understanding and appropriation by the grassroots populations.
