Nahouri: The Secretary General of the Nahouri Province, Emile Hien, presided over the official presentation of certificates to 95 students of the Nikanre language in Zecco on Saturday, April 4, 2026. The town of Zecco, located about 40 km east of P´, celebrated the promotion of local culture.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was organized by the Nikanre sub-commission and marks a significant advancement in literacy efforts within the Nahouri province. The certification ceremony recognized 95 individuals for their proficiency in the Nikanre language, reflecting a broader initiative to bolster local linguistic and cultural heritage.
Nestor Bakieka, president of the Nikanre language sub-committee, highlighted the dual objectives of the event: to award certificates to the learners and to review the past year's activities. Looking ahead, Mr. Bakieka expressed the aim to rejuvenate the "nankanaphone" area, creating more opportunities for learning and cultural enrichment for the Nahouri community.
