Bassitenga: The Bassitenga Provincial Tax Directorate held a formal flag-raising ceremony at its headquarters on Monday, April 7, 2026. This event was part of the 2026 Patriotic Engagement and Civic Participation Days (JEPPC).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony took place under the chairmanship of the High Commissioner of Bassitenga Province, Mr. Sadou Guigma, and saw a strong mobilization of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), officials from other provincial directorates as well as agents from the provincial tax directorate.
On this occasion, the message from the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, was read by the High Commissioner. Mr. Guigma then spoke to comment on the content of the presidential message and urged the participants to promote the consumption of local products, in line with government guidelines.
This mobilization was particularly appreciated by the provincial director of taxes for Bassitenga, Ms. Ang¨le Sawadogo, who praised the commitment of the staff and guests. For her, the ceremony transcended purely administrative matters.
'Watching this flag rise reminds us that we are all servants of one nation: Burkina Faso. Each color speaks to us of our history, our sacrifices, and our hopes,' stated Ms. Ang¨le Sawadogo.
Furthermore, the High Commissioner highlighted the achievements of the provincial tax office during Tax Exemplarity Week. According to him, this department collected over four million CFA francs in taxes for local authorities. He congratulated the management team on this achievement, saying:
"Allow me to reiterate my congratulations to the Director of Taxation for the success of Tax Exemplarity Week."
The flag-raising ceremony at the provincial tax office in Bassitenga thus marks the renewed commitment of the province's public servants to serve the nation with loyalty, civic-mindedness and patriotism, in accordance with the spirit of the 2026 Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation Days (JEPPC).
