The Population of Milkpo Provides Support to the VDP and Vulnerable People

Ouagadougou: The population of the village of Milkpo, in the commune of Dolo, demonstrated on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, a surge of solidarity in support of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and vulnerable people, through a donation consisting of food and a financial contribution, handed over to the municipal authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative, part of the "Dem¨ Sira" program, resulted in the handing over of three bags of corn and an envelope containing 20,000 CFA francs to the prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS) of Dolo, Ilassa Oudraogo.

The representative of the Village Development Committee (CVD) of Milkpo, Tibomat Dah, also spokesperson for the donors, stated that this gesture aims to support the efforts of local authorities in securing the commune, particularly through support for the VDP, while providing assistance to the most vulnerable social groups.

"This contribution is a way for us to participate in the dynamic of solidarity and to support those who work for our security as well as our fellow citizens in difficulty," he said.

The donation was distributed equally among the beneficiaries. Two bags of corn and 10,000 CFA francs were allocated to the VDP, while one bag of corn and 10,000 CFA francs were given to vulnerable people in the commune.

The handover ceremony took place in the presence of several local stakeholders, including the head of the municipal water and forestry service post and head of the municipal VDP, Ren Dabir.

Speaking at the event, the president of the Dolo special delegation, Ilassa Oudraogo, praised the commitment of the people of Milkpo. He emphasized that this gesture reflects a high sense of civic duty and social responsibility, while also contributing to strengthening social cohesion within the community.

"Such initiatives not only contribute to improving the living conditions of the beneficiaries, but also to strengthening unity and solidarity among the populations," he stated.

The PDS also encouraged all the villages in the commune to follow Milkpo's lead, by increasing support actions for local security forces and vulnerable people.

Through this action, the inhabitants of Milkpo reaffirm their commitment to the values of solidarity, mutual aid, and citizen participation, while supporting the local development efforts undertaken by the municipal authorities.

The Dolo town hall, for its part, expressed its gratitude to the donors and reiterated its commitment to strengthening partnerships with communities for harmonious and inclusive development.
