SNC 2026: Bernard Saba Encourages Liptako Troops to Aim for Victory in Bobo-Dioulasso

Bobo-dioulasso: The regional director of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism for the Liptako and Soum region, Bernard Saba, urged the artistic troupes Joddal Lobal and Weltare Suudu Baaba, selected for the 22nd edition of the National Culture Week (SNC), on Friday to prepare adequately in order to bring laurels back to the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Bernard Saba visited the rehearsal spaces of the two artistic groups, accompanied by the technical advisor to the governor of the Liptako and Soum region, Edgar R. Compaore. After carefully observing the performances, he offered advice to the organizers, while commending the efforts already made in the preparations.

The regional director emphasized that participation in the SNC requires rigor and discipline, highlighting the need to strictly adhere to the internal regulations. Mr. Saba also urged the troops to strengthen their cohesion and maintain a high level of performance.

The governor's technical advisor, Edgar R. Compaore, reassured the artists of the regional administration's willingness to support them. He encouraged the representatives of Liptako to proudly defend the region's cultural identity at this major event. The troop leaders, Fran§ois Koussoube and Idrissa Dicko, indicated that they were aware of the challenges and were working on current issues such as social cohesion, living together and gender-based violence, despite some difficulties.

Scheduled from April 25 to May 2, 2026, in Bobo-Dioulasso, the 22nd SNC will be held under the theme: "Culture, youth and transmission of social values." The Liptako and Soum region will participate with three artistic troupes, ten wrestlers, four archers, and two candidates in culinary arts.
