Zoundweogo: The new commander of the Group of the Republican Security Company (GCRS) of Manga, Police Commissioner Ousseni Kalmogo, expressed on Tuesday in Manga his desire to work to build a united, professional and exemplary CRS, during the handover ceremony.
According to Burkina Information Agency, in his speech, the new commander of the GCRS, Ousseni Kalmogo, outlined his vision of command, focused on consolidating achievements, with the ambition of building "a united, professional and exemplary CRS". He also pledged strict adherence to order and discipline, which he established as "non-negotiable" principles, while promising fair, firm, and equitable leadership.
Addressing the national security situation, Police Commissioner Ousseni Kalmogo recalled that the CRS occupies a strategic place in the defense system. He specified that it intervenes both in its classic missions of maintaining and restoring order, protecting institutions and fighting organized crime, and in its engagement on the theater of operations against terrorism and for the reconquest of the territory.
"Taking command of such a unit, in such a context, is neither a privilege nor a simple career step," he stated, while acknowledging the weight of the responsibility that falls upon him in the face of the expectations of the hierarchy and the population. Addressing the men and women under his authority, the GCRS commander congratulated them on their efforts and urged them to make professionalism a bulwark against insecurity.
He also stressed the importance of collaboration with all defense and security forces, as well as with administrative, customary and religious authorities. Commissioner Kalmogo also paid tribute to his predecessor, Police Commissioner Traore Abdoulaye, who has been called to other duties, praising the remarkable work accomplished and the solid foundations left at the head of the unit. He also expressed his gratitude to the Burkinabe authorities for the trust placed in him by entrusting him with this responsibility.
