Afro-Descendants Praise Progress on Ouaga-Bobo Highway Project

Ouagadougou: On their way to Bobo-Dioulasso for the 22nd edition of the National Culture Week (SNC), a group of Afro-descendants, accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made a significant stop at the construction site of the Ouaga-Bobo highway in the commune of Kokologo, located in the Nando region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit provided the Afro-descendants an opportunity to witness the ongoing work on this ambitious infrastructure project initiated by the Burkinabe authorities. The Faso Mªbo agency team presented a detailed overview of the highway project, which was launched by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE.

The Afro-descendants, led by Dr. Arikana CHIHOMBORI, expressed their admiration for the project's progress. Dr. CHIHOMBORI commended the Burkinabe authorities, stating, "This is a first for us to see this in Africa; this project is unique in its kind since it is carried out with our own funds and I am proud to see that it is Burkinabe people who are committed and determined in the work."

The Ouagadougou - Bobo-Dioulasso highway project represents a significant development endeavor for Burkina Faso. Officially launched on December 16, 2025, by Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, the project has been progressing rapidly to ensure the infrastructure is completed as soon as possible.
