Ouagadougou: The Andemtenga Basic Education District (CEB) received a significant donation of sports equipment worth over 500,000 FCFA on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from the Wendpouita Sport Association. The event took place in the presence of local authorities, teachers, and students.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the commune of Andemtenga is the sixth locality to benefit from this donation of sports equipment from the Wendpouita Sport Association. Each year, it provides a Basic Education Center (CEB) in the Kourittenga province with sports equipment. For this edition, the prize package consists of 63 balls, 1 trophy, 30 medals, and 4 sets of jerseys worth over 500,000 francs.
The promoter, No«l Wendpouita B©r©, stated that this initiative aims to promote sport, particularly football, in the province. He emphasized the importance of sport as a driver of education, social cohesion, and health. B©r© expressed the organization's belief that the development of young people depends on quality learning conditions, which includes sport. Acknowledging the challenges faced by institutions in terms of equipment, the association wanted to contribute its part.
B©r© encouraged the beneficiaries to take care of the facilities and consider these tools as means to shape their future and potentially become great athletes. Athanase Damiba, the primary education inspector representing the Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Andemtenga, noted the timely arrival of the donation. He highlighted that this equipment will facilitate the organization of school sports activities and assured the donor that the materials will be used properly.
Mohamed Yam©ogo, representing the sponsor, expressed gratitude to the association and reiterated the sponsor's willingness to support such initiatives. Naaba Saaga of Boto, the 2nd vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Andemtenga, welcomed the gesture and urged educational stakeholders to use the facilities wisely to improve communal competitions.
Following the donation to Andemtenga, the Wendpouita Sport Association plans to meet with the municipality of Dialgaye for the next allocation scheduled for next year.
