Solenzo Women Empowered with ICT Training and Computers

Solenzo: Women from four associations received desktop computers on the evening of Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Solenzo town hall. These women were also introduced to the basics of information and communication technologies by the ICT Program in Faso (ProtaF), led by Wagnin Zerbo, from April 14 to 16, 2026.According to Burkina Information Agency, the spokeswoman for the beneficiaries, Maïmouna Traoré, highlighted that this initiative will allow them to store their data and keep up with technological developments. 'Before, we wrote our reports, minutes, and all the information about our associations on paper, and each time we had to redo certain things, because it is not easy to keep important documents and find them quickly. These computers will allow us to be up to date and will facilitate our work,' said Maïmouna Traoré, spokesperson for the beneficiaries. She noted that several associations in the province still remain attached to manuscripts, which makes it difficult to carry out certain tasks. For trainer and donor Wagnin Zerbo, this training is a way to inform national and international opinion that Solenzo is holding its own and that life there continues as normal, contrary to the ideas spread by some detractors. This initiative also aims to commend the resilience of the population and to encourage investors to take an interest in the city. 'I would tell investors and NGOs to come to Solenzo. All the communities there live in perfect harmony, and people need to come and invest in Solenzo so they don't have to chase after the train that's already moving,' said Wagnin Zerbo, trainer for ProtaF.The first vice-president of the special delegation of Solenzo, Alidou Coulibaly, and the commander of BIR 18, Papa Parfait Kambou, both congratulated the donor, while urging the women to continue such training in order to better master the use of computer tools.
