Mouhoun: The municipality of Bondoukuy witnessed an official handover ceremony on Monday, May 4, 2026, marking a significant transition in its approach to public service and security. The National Gendarmerie Brigade has assumed responsibility for security and administrative functions in the municipality, replacing the police station that previously served the area.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was chaired by Idrissa Ganame, President of the special delegation of the commune (PDS) of Ouarkoye. The ceremony saw strong attendance from the local population, along with customary and religious authorities, who appreciated the efforts made by the National Police to benefit the locality.

The ceremony was attended by administrative, military, paramilitary, customary, and religious authorities, as well as representatives from civil society organizations. The professionalism and quality of service provided by the officers of the police station were acknowledged with several expressions of appreciation.

The Bondoukuy town hall presented letters of congratulations to all police officers and awarded a certificate of recognition to the Commissioner. The Workers' Association of the municipality also acknowledged the staff with certificates of recognition, and the agents of the special delegation offered a symbolic gift to the Commissioner.

Speakers at the event emphasized that the institutional transition represents a continuation rather than a break, highlighting the ongoing commitment to public security service. They urged the population to continue collaborating with the defense and security forces to promote peace and social cohesion.
