Gourma: The Secretary General of the Gourma Province, Botetessan Bonou, presided over the traditional raising of the national colors this Thursday in Fada N'Gourma, in the presence of constituted bodies, social partners, and public agents. Organised within the premises of the provincial directorate of the National Police of Gourma, this ceremony served as a setting for patriotic communion and exchanges on security and civic issues.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Secretary General indicated that this monthly activity aims to strengthen the patriotic commitment of the people and their adherence to the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP). He praised the efforts made by the defense and security forces in securing the province and reconquering the national territory.
The provincial director of the National Police of Gourma, Chief Commissioner Abdoulaye Cisse, presented his institution and its various security missions in the province. He explained the new security vision called "Yaki Police," initiated by the highest authorities to involve the population more in combating organized crime, crime, and insecurity. According to Chief Commissioner Cisse, "Yaki" means "neighbor" in the Gourmanchema language and reflects the desire to bring the police closer to citizens through community policing and contact.
"Without the real involvement of the population, it will be difficult to overcome insecurity," argued the provincial police director, inviting citizens to collaborate with the security forces by providing useful information. He specified that this community policing will conduct awareness campaigns in neighborhoods, markets, schools, and concessions to gather the population's concerns regarding security.
Abdoulaye Cisse also provided details regarding the AES identity card, including the conditions for enrollment, the documents required, and the costs associated with establishing the document. The provincial secretary general also invited every citizen to familiarize themselves with the RPP manifesto to better understand the vision and orientations of the Popular Progressive Revolution. The participants purchased 50 copies of the RPP manifesto as a sign of their support for this citizen movement.
