Sourou: The Secretary General of the Sourou province, Wendyam Martial Ouedraogo, representing the High Commissioner, officially initiated the sports events of the Brevet d'etudes du premier cycle (BEPC) 2026 session in Sourou province. The launch took place at Kassan high school with the presence of key officials including the prefect and president of the special delegation of Tougan, Ouigou Tiendrebeogo, and the provincial director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training for Sourou, Joseph Karambiri.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Secretary General highlighted the selection of the Kassan center as a tribute to the resilience and dedication of education professionals there. He emphasized the administration's support for ensuring the smooth conduct of exams and boosting the performance of stakeholders in the education sector.
Joseph Karambiri shared his satisfaction with the decision to hold the official launch at Kassan, expressing that it serves as a motivation for the local education community, taking into account the specific challenges faced by the province.
In the 2026 session, a total of 1,166 candidates are participating in the BEPC exams in Sourou province, marking a slight increase from the 1,155 candidates in 2025.
