Raising of the Colors Ceremony in Dakoro Encourages Unity Around RPP Values

Leraba: The High Commissioner of Leraba Province, Yacouba Sawadogo, presided over a national flag-raising ceremony at the Dakoro Prefecture, situated 30 km south of Sindou. The event, held on May 7, 2026, encouraged the population to unite around the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the national flag-raising ceremony was established in 2022 in Leraba Province with the objective of fostering love and pride in the nation, emphasizing respect for state symbols. Spearheaded by the country's top authorities, this initiative is organized monthly across the national territory.

This patriotic event, traditionally held on the first Thursday of each month, rotates between provincial directorates and public service representations in Sindou. In 2026, an innovation was introduced to conduct the event every two months in different departments of Leraba to promote patriotic commitment throughout the province.

During the ceremony, High Commissioner Yacouba Sawadogo urged the population to embrace the values of the RPP. Participants in Dakoro had the opportunity to visit the technical services premises for the development of the municipality. Sawadogo expressed satisfaction with the achievements of the special delegation in Dakoro, led by Daniel Sebego.

Village Chief Yaya Ouattara requested the High Commissioner to consider proposing an honorary distinction for the PDS, while Sina Ouattara, the PDS representative in Sindou, assured a successful organization for the upcoming event scheduled for June 2026.
