Boulkiemde: The Havila Centre Trains 50 Women in Self-Employment in Ramongo

Boulkiemde: The Centre Havila Association organized a free training session for 50 women and girls in Ramongo on April 15 and 16, 2024, an initiative aimed at promoting financial independence through learning soap making and dyeing.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Havila Centre in Ramongo is strengthening its commitment to socio-professional integration. Over two days, 50 beneficiaries, including 38 women from the villages of the commune and 12 sewing trainees, were equipped with techniques for soap making, dyeing kokodonda loincloths and making bogolan.

This training session responds to the vision of the founders, Isaac Bazie and Blandine Bazie, who aim to transform the center into a hub for local production. The center's national representative, Denis Bazie, stated that the goal is to enable these women to create their own production units to meet their needs.

Technical supervision was provided by Amadou Moyenga and Enoch Moyenga, trainers from Tenkodogo. At the end of the training, each participant received two certificates of completion, recognizing their new skills in soap making and textile crafts.

Present at the ceremony, representatives of the municipal youth, Apollinaire Zongo and Francis Beremwidougou, welcomed an initiative that is part of the dynamic of promoting local consumption advocated by the highest authorities of the country, under the direction of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore.

In addition to these one-off training courses, the Havila Centre offers a diversified curriculum including welding, animal husbandry and culinary arts, while also having a "bissongo" space for early childhood education. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the promoters for providing this free service and pledged to quickly put these gains into practice to boost the local economy of Ramongo.
