Citizen Watch Group in Kongoussi Organizes Conference to Boost Civic Engagement Among Students

Kongoussi: Citizen watch group organizes a conference to raise civic awareness among students. Tassere Ouedraogo, a researcher in the history of revolutions and geopolitical analyst, held a public conference on Saturday for the benefit of students in Kongoussi, with the aim of raising awareness and strengthening their civic engagement.According to Burkina Information Agency, the public conference, initiated by the Kongoussi civic watch group, was attended by all the students in the town. During this meeting, the speaker encouraged participants to actively engage in national initiatives, to demonstrate discipline, and to serve their country loyally.Tassere Ouedraogo stressed that the youth constitute the next generation and must prepare themselves to fully assume their responsibilities in building a strong nation. The discussions covered several themes, including the historical evolution of Upper Volta from 1904 to the present day, the fundamental values of a revolution, and the influence of social network s in the current context.The speaker also put into perspective the democratic and popular revolution led by Captain Thomas Sankara with the current dynamics of the RPP initiated by Captain Ibrahim Traore. Awareness of the Highway Code was also discussed.According to the provincial coordinator of citizen vigilance in Bam, Marcel Sawadogo, this activity aims to help raise awareness among students and encourage them to take ownership of national issues while protecting them from road accidents. The first vice-president of the special delegation of Kongoussi, Etienne Sawadogo, welcomed the initiative and urged the participants to take advantage of the lessons learned from this conference.He also invited the students to take ownership of the content of the discussions and to adopt responsible behaviors to contribute to the development of their locality and the country.
