154 Candidates Participate in BEPC Sports Exams at Nobere Departmental High School

Burkina faso: The physical education and sports tests for the Junior High School Certificate (BEPC), 2026 session, began this Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the Nobere departmental high school. A total of 154 candidates, the majority of whom are girls, are taking part in this first stage of the exam.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the center's president reported that Nobere has 154 registered candidates this year, including 103 girls. Following the general roll call, a 100% participation rate was recorded, with no candidates absent.

For efficient management of staff, the organizing committee divided the candidates into two cohorts: 80 candidates took the exam on the first day, while the remaining 74 are expected for the second. The sporting events consist of four disciplines, namely: sprinting or endurance running, jumps (long jump, high jump or triple jump), shot put and gymnastics.

On the field, discipline is the order of the day under the supervision of physical education and sports (PES) teachers, led by the chair of the commission, Rosalie Segdo. "The candidates were punctual and followed instructions. In view of the performances already recorded, we are satisfied with the preparation work carried out during the school year," said the chairwoman of the commission.

Health and safety are ensured by a team from the Nobere Medical Center. "Our role is to look after the health of the students. We have already treated some minor injuries during the jumping and gymnastics events; their conditions are stable," reassured nurse Kassoum Niampa.

Among the students, optimism prevails. "I prepared well. Despite the stress, I am satisfied with my results in speed and gymnastics. I hope that the last discipline will also be a success," said candidate Assia Zoungrana after her 100-meter race.

The center's director, Djakalia Zoubga, praised the overall smooth running of the tests, supported by the security forces and health personnel. He urged the candidates to maintain this effort, reminding them that these grades count towards the final graduation.

The sporting events will continue until the end of the day on Wednesday, May 13, paving the way for the written phase scheduled for the coming weeks across the entire national territory.
