Sapon©: The village of Dawelgu© has officially opened its new health and social promotion center (CSPS), marking a significant milestone in healthcare access for the residents of the commune of Sapon© and surrounding areas in Baz¨ga province. The inauguration ceremony, held on Friday, May 8, 2026, was presided over by K´ti No«l Sanou, the President of the special delegation (PDS) of Sapon©. The event was attended by administrative and customary authorities, as well as local populations.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Chief Naaba Boalga of Dawelgu© expressed gratitude on behalf of his community, acknowledging the importance of the new health infrastructure. Dr. Liliane Bambara, the chief medical officer of the Sapon© health district, also extended her appreciation to the administrative authorities for their dedication to enhancing public health services. Dr. Bambara highlighted that the CSPS represents a crucial advancement for the district, addressing a longstanding need for accessible healthcare in Dawelgu© and nearby localities.
In his address, K´ti No«l Sanou underscored the commitment of the national leadership, led by the President of Faso, to improve access to basic social services. He urged the local community to cherish the CSPS as a shared asset, encouraging responsibility and civic-mindedness. Mr. Sanou also called on the health center staff to exhibit professionalism and compassion in their duties.
Head nurse P©lagie Dibgolongo expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve at the new facility, pledging with her team to deliver quality care to the community. The local populace turned out in large numbers to show their appreciation for the new center, which significantly improves their proximity to healthcare services.
The CSPS comprises a dispensary, a maternity ward, a pharmacy, and three housing units, realized through the cooperation between the Burkinabe and Japanese governments.
