Niangoloko Chief Calls for Ancestral Protection on Day of Customs and Traditions

Niangoloko: The chief of Niangoloko, His Majesty Safemba Soma, requested the protection of the spirits of the ancestors for the city and the defense and security forces during the Day of Customs and Traditions in Burkina Faso on May 15, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, His Majesty Safemba Soma participated in a grand worship ceremony at the canton chief's residence, where he called upon the ancestors to safeguard the city and its defense and security forces. This annual event is observed with the hope of fostering peace, social cohesion, and security within the region and across the country.

His Majesty's prayers included a plea for the exposure of all evil spirits to aid the work of authorities. As part of the ceremony, chickens and a ram were sacrificed to seek the ancestors' assistance.
